Help us Provide Counselling for Those in Need

We Need Your Help

Please help the Living through Loss Counselling Society of BC continue to provide professional counselling support to individuals, couples, and families throughout BC who need grief support but lack the funds to access these services.

Since its inception in 1972, the Living through Loss Counselling Society of BC has always found ways to open our doors to those in need through donations, fundraising, and pro bono work donated by our generous and competent therapists.

There was a time when 4.9 out of every 10 people who sought help lacked the resources to pay for counselling or support group sessions. With the help of generous donors and the Provincial Government Gaming Branch, we were able to meet that need until recently.

As we enter our 55th year of service, we are asking you to donate to help rebuild the “Open Door Access Fund” to provide support to those in need. Every dollar counts.

How to Donate

You can send an e-transfer to ltlc@shaw.ca or donate via our PayPal link:

100% of the funds received are used to keep our doors open to those with limited or no resources.

Receipts for tax purposes will be issued for all donations over $25.00.

Judy Capes Memorial Fund

Judy came to the agency with an authentic desire to want to help people deal with life’s loss and change; and make them whole again.

A pioneer and leader in the of issues and complexities of loss due to health, Judy was able to provide a natural bridge to the hospice and palliative care community with her grief and loss practice at our agency and her work at the Dr. Peter Center and volunteer work at St. Paul’s hospital.

When no one was sure of how to help the downtown eastside women deal with continuous traumatic loss and change, Judy was able to secure funding through The Sharon Martin Fund which targets at risk women in the Downtown Eastside and build several respected therapy groups.

Judy was a relentless advocate and ambassador to our agency in all areas of her life and because of that, the breadth and reach of our services were expanded.

Judy Capes Memorial Fund

The Judy Capes Memorial Fund honours and remembers Judy Capes by providing counselling and group therapy support to women at risk who have no economic means to pay for counselling services.
